Star Citizen Alpha 4.0 Gets Loads Of New Features

Welcome to a Star Citizen Alpha 4.0 Roadmap Update, we also have some more 3.24 stuff here with CIG talking about blockers and a quick PSA about Personal Hangar Sizes.

Anyway there are some new features coming to Alpha 4.0

RSI Zeus MkII CL Multicrew cargo ship…This Joins the Zeus ES which is also planned for the patch.

Acidic Caves – Implementing the acidic cave archetype, coming to both the Pyro and Stanton systems. Adorned with luminous pools of water and dramatic stalactites and stalagmites, these caves provide a captivating setting for exploration, FPS missions, missing person missions, and more.

Rock Caves – Implementing the rock cave archetype, coming to both the Pyro and Stanton systems. Illuminated by bioluminescent mushrooms, these caves provide a unique atmosphere for exploration, FPS missions, missing person missions, and more.

Asteroid Bases – Implementing new asteroid bases scattered across space in asteroid clusters, gas clouds, and other areas of Pyro. From exploration-type gameplay to mission-based locations, these bases include both constrained interiors for potential FPS conflicts as well as space combat while reaching or fleeing from the location.

Space Stations – Contested Zones – These are location features coming to Pyro’s space stations, introducing FPS gameplay with various layouts tailored for this purpose. The zones will feature a progression system requiring tokens to unlock different zones, giving access to the loot inside. Collecting all of the tokens will allow a player to open the final door and claim the grand prize.

Life Support

Fire Hazards / Fire Extinguishers

Also there could be more stuff turning up, stuff could also get pushed back.

We don’t have a date on 4.0’s expected release, originally it was supposed to be a Q3 release. That aint happening BUT it is expected before the end of the year.

Onto some more proximate news Yesterday evening there was a build update with CIG saying We are not expecting a new Alpha 3.24 PTU build today while teams work on resolving some further issues blocking us from going to Wave 1. 

Hopefully they will be able to get that resolved before the weekend. I would like to see a wider PTU asap. Obviously 3.24 has been in evo for a lot longer than most of us expected.

And CIG made a clarification on hangars in 3.24:

Your personal hangar size for the patch is based on  the largest ship you have on your account, so this can be pledge ship or loaner it seems.

After 3.24 drops…

Buying a new ship on the Pledge Store will not resize your Personal Hangar, currently. There are discussions about it internally, so we will keep you in the loop when we know more about this specific topic; But it won’t make it for 3.24.

I saw there is a full on unofficial FAQ for hangars with some info that I didn’t know which we will cover in another video.  It’s all subject to change even with just the 3.24 patch so bear that in mind.
