Star Citizen Updates August 7th 2024

Welcome to some more Star Citizen. Today I wanted to talk about some interesting Website Changes that are coming to SC just before a big sales period, we have updates to the Alpha 3.24 patch and some issues and I also want to take a look at the new RSI Sub Flair and talk about how it might be changing in the future and why it might be useful to become a Subscriber if/when it does.

Website Changes Coming Your Way!

As you’ve likely noticed, over the last couple of years, our web team has been diligently working on enhancing our website to elevate the user experience over the past years. You’ve seen this in previous upgrades to Comm-Link design, and new and improved tools such as the Issue Council, Community Hub, the RSI Launcher, and more!

These are many steps that make up a much larger web initiative to improve the overall web experience. Up next is a revamp of our Pledge Store, which will roll out very soon.

This aesthetic overhaul isn’t just about looks. We’ve listened to your feedback and identified areas for improvement to make things more intuitive and enjoyable.

And we’re certainly not done there! You can expect a bevy of additional updates on the horizon, all of which are currently in active development:

  • RSI Homepage Revamp
  • New Platform Navigation Bar on RSI Homepage
  • Star Citizen Game Page Update
  • Pledge Store Refresh

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to roll out these exciting changes, and as always, thank you for your continued support.

We’ll keep a close eye on both how you interact with these changes as we implement them and your feedback!

Any Alpha 3.24 Updates?

Gameplay

  • Added slight boundary violation grace time to Planet Kill Volumes for vehicles. (This may help with many random deaths while flying close to planet surfaces and water)

Ships and Vehicles

  • Made Hornet and Arrow Aerodynamic adjustments to avoid unintended behaviors while Yawing in atmosphere

Bug Fixes

  • While in your personal hangar, you can hear the sound from other players’ hangars. Although better and happens less / in less circumstances this appears to still be an issue.
  • Ships can spawn at the bottom of the ship elevator without being raised up preventing access
  • The ASOP terminals for ground vehicles at Lorville gates get stuck on infinite load, accessing list of ships
  • When docking or retrieving a ship to a docking port at a station, the docking arm will not extend
  • ESP curvature tuning does not save between play sessions
  • Cargo crates could be counted towards multiple objectives
  • Hangar Instance elevators can be called and arrive at the current floor but the doors do not open
  • Unable to purchase or sell commodities from the kiosk through auto-loading
  • Using ship’s Bed Logout while beside a distribution center will teleport the ship to the center of Stanton
  • Players are unable to use any vehicle services when landed at GrimHex
  • Fixed audio notification message when leaving a ship so it no longer says player was “Kicked from the Channel”
  • Fixed 1 Client, 6 Server Crashes as well as a Hybrid & 1 Backend Service Crash
  • They also Fixed an issue causing excessive network spam while salvaging

Sub Promos

Summer’s in full effect as we head toward a cargo deck’s worth of exciting releases and events, including our annual battle to crown the community’s favorite in-game vehicle. To welcome back Ship Showdown, this month’s Flair is a cuddly in-game version of last year’s winner, the mighty Drake Corsair.

August’s Ships of the Month are two industrial stalwarts, Argo’s RAFT and SRV – perfect for putting in a shift or two while we finalize the upcoming patch.

Cuddle up with 2023’s community-voted favorite ship as you create your own work of art for this year’s Ship Showdown. Every subscriber gets one, while Imperator-level subscribers also receive an ornate drinking gourd to add a touch of class to their habs.

Earnable In-Game: Our goal is to make most items earnable in-game. For this reason, many flair items have been added to the in-game loot table as rare drops from Alpha 3.17. Most pre-2023 items that can be carried by players are available now, with new and future flair being added after a three-month exclusivity window.

Corsair Plushie – Centurions & Imperators
Ornate Drinking Gourd – Imperators
